Julia is an actor, comedian, poet, playwright and producer from Honolulu, Hawaii. She has performed at The Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre on their sketch comedy show Maude Night. Off-Broadway work includes That Beautiful Laugh at La MaMa (starring Alan Tudyk). Regional work includes A Midsummer Night’s Dream (The Shakespeare Theater Co. in D.C and the Macau Arts Festival in China), The Mousetrap (Dorset Theatre Festival); You Can’t Take it With You, Macbeth, An Incident (Chautauqua Theater Co.) Her solo show Freckle and Burn premiered at Juilliard as well as her play Our Names In Masking Tape which she also directed. Training: The Juilliard School and The Maggie Flanigan Studio. Julia wanted to create this podcast to help lessen the stigma in discussing mental illness and to provide support and a sense of community to those struggling. Everybody's got something - so why not talk about it?
Becky Abrams is a comedian, actor, voiceover artist, and writer living in Brooklyn. She performs regularly at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, and her work has appeared in Audible, Funny or Die, Cosmo, MTV, and Nick Jr. She believes that speaking openly and honestly about mental health is beneficial to everyone - and that, quite frankly, it’s probably the key to making everything a whole lot better for our future.
Patrick Fannon is a Licensed Psychotherapist, LA native, and eternal Britney fan living and being in Brooklyn. He completed a BA in clinical psychology and media studies at the New School University and a masters of social work at the City University of New York Hunter College. He has post-graduate training in psychodynamic psychotherapy and utilizes an integrative approach with his clients to help them achieve their goals and optimal wellness. Patrick is also passionate about spirituality, healthy eating, and alternative medicine and believes that health and mental health are intricately related. He is very excited to be working on The Profesh podcast with Becky and Julia because he loves to talk (and gossip!) and hopes that this project help some listeners with their mental health journeys!
